Alexandra Christou, MSW, LCSW

Alexandra (she/her) joined the Board of the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island in 2026. She brings a varied background, both professional and personal, strengthened by cross-sector work experience and an international upbringing. Each of these experiences have driven her passion for improving equity through systems change.

Alexandra previously worked in the Human Resources field at tech startups, partnering with senior leadership on strategic HR planning, retention, and employee engagement initiatives, as well as building out company-wide diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

Deepening her commitment to strengthening systems equity work, she earned her MSW from Rhode Island College and now works in Public Health policy. Alexandra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds Certificates in Organizational Behavior and Human Services Management. She is a proud Providence resident and enjoys taking walks around her neighborhood with her wife and young son.
