Grief is a normal response after a loss or traumatic event. People who work in the helping professions have some unique challenges when it comes to processing the loss of their clients. This training will help to identify possible grief reactions, provide suggestions on how to cope with grief, and review different grief theories such as Kubler Ross’s stages of grief. Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is a community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.
